The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is the state agency responsible for promoting and protecting the health of all Georgians. Its mission is to prevent disease, injury and disability , and to promote and protect the health and well-being of the people of Georgia. The Georgia DPH is divided into several divisions, including the Office of the Commissioner, the Office of Health Equity, the Office of Health Indicators and Information, the Office of Planning and Partnerships, and the Office of Tobacco and Chronic Disease. Additionally, the Georgia DPH operates several programs to address specific health issues, such as chronic disease, infectious disease, environmental health, and emergency preparedness and response.
